LEGAL INFORMATION
Napwise Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information the Napwise baby sleep app handles, where it is kept, and how it is protected.
Effective date and last updated: September 30, 2026
1. Information Stored on Your Device
Everything you enter stays on your device: your baby's name and birth date, logged sleeps, your usual wake-up and bedtime, the challenges you select during onboarding, bedtime routine checks, and app settings. The app has no user accounts and does not upload this information to our servers. The only exceptions are the sleep insights described in section 2, when you allow them, and the crash reports and usage statistics described in section 3, which never include your baby's name, birth date or sleep logs.
2. Sleep Insights (Napwise Plus)
- •Nothing is sent until you allow it: the first time a Plus subscriber opens insights, the app shows what will be shared and asks for permission. You can turn insights off at any time in Settings → AI insights (OpenAI), and nothing is sent while they are off.
- •With permission, about once a day the app sends our server the baby's age in months, the selected challenges, usual wake-up and bedtime, planned wake windows, the start time, end time and type of sleeps logged in the last 14 days, the app language, and the anonymous RevenueCat customer ID.
- •Your baby's name is never sent.
- •Our server checks the subscription with RevenueCat, then forwards the sleep data (without the customer ID) to OpenAI to write the insight.
- •Our server does not keep your sleep logs. It keeps the generated insight for up to 6 hours, filed under a one-way hash of the request, so a repeated request is answered without contacting OpenAI again. To enforce the daily limit it also records the anonymous customer ID with the time of each new insight, and deletes these records after 24 hours.
- •OpenAI does not use API data to train its models. It may keep the data it receives for up to 30 days to monitor for abuse, then deletes it.
- •The latest insight is also saved on your device so it can be shown again until the next one is made.
- •Free users' data is never sent for insights.
3. Crash Reports and Usage Statistics
- •We use Google Firebase Crashlytics to find and fix crashes. When the app crashes, it sends a crash report with the stack trace, device model, iOS version, app version and a random installation ID. Crash reports are kept for 90 days.
- •We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand which features are used, so we can improve the app. It records events such as app opens, screens viewed and actions like starting a sleep, together with a random app instance ID, device model, iOS version, app version and language. These events describe what you did in the app, not what you entered: they contain no names, birth dates, sleep times or durations. Event data is kept for up to 2 months.
- •Google derives an approximate location (country or city) from the IP address to show where the app is used. The IP address itself is not stored.
- •The app does not collect the advertising identifier (IDFA), and this data is not used for advertising or shared with advertisers.
4. Purchases
Subscriptions are processed by Apple. RevenueCat manages subscription status using an anonymous customer ID and your purchase history; it does not receive your baby's details or sleep logs.
5. Notifications
Nap and bedtime reminders are scheduled locally on your device from your plan. No reminder content is sent to a server.
6. Exporting Your Data
The CSV export is created on your device and shared only where you choose through the iOS share sheet.
7. Third-Party Services
- •OpenAI — generates sleep insights for Plus subscribers.
- •RevenueCat — subscription management and verification.
- •Google Firebase (Crashlytics and Analytics) — crash reporting and usage statistics.
- •Apple — payments and notification delivery.
8. No Tracking or Advertising
The app contains no advertising and does not track you across other apps or websites. Crash reports and usage statistics are used only to keep the app working and to improve it; they are not combined with data from other companies for advertising and are not sold.
9. Deleting Your Data
Use Settings → Delete all data to remove every logged sleep, the running timer, routine checks and the saved insight. Deleting the app removes all remaining local data. Crash reports and usage statistics are deleted automatically after the periods in section 3. To ask for earlier deletion of that data, or for questions about subscription records held by RevenueCat, contact us at the address below.
10. Children’s Privacy
The app is intended for parents and caregivers, not for children to use. Information about a child is entered by the parent or caregiver and stays on their device, except for the anonymous sleep data described in section 2.
11. Changes
We may update this policy. The date above shows when it last changed.
